Our vacation to St. John was truly beautiful and full of lots of smiles, good food, sunshine and family. I took a TON of pictures. The islands were not like any place I’ve been before and the clear water was gorgeous! Here are some pictures…

We woke up early to fly out. I really enjoy starting the day early and traveling. I also really like flying, it makes it feel like you’re going on an adventure.

The picture above is from the boat ride from St.Thomas to Caneel Bay (where we stayed). The clouds and the light were beautiful.

My cousin brought her GoPro so we could take pictures on the water. We kayaked, sailed, and stand-up paddle boarded (which was my personal favorite).

On our second night the whole family was there so we had a big fancy dinner and dressed up. My cousin Pete was looking dapper as usual. I made my sister take pictures of me here because it was so beautiful 🙂 Emmy hopped in for a few. “The dab” was the official dance move of this trip.

Breakfast was so good!

A cute little friend we found 🙂

These are some more gopro pics. The one on top I posted on Instagram with a caption about body image. It’s one of those things you kinda click “Post” with your eyes closed. The response I got on it was so much bigger than I thought it would be and so loving. (These rocks hurt our feet a lot)

The sunset over the ocean and rocks close to the house we stayed in.

Wouldn’t be a real vacation if Dad didn’t fish! We snorkeled around these rocks too and underwater there was a ton of tropical fish!

The donkeys! They were pretty friendly (signs said you weren’t supposed to pet them…I’m pretty sure that was just a suggestion) They were the closest thing I found to horses 🙂

So this trip was for the family company (so there was about 40 people in our family there total), which also meant the big meeting with all the adults. So the girls watched the boys for the morning. We went to the beach Hawks Nest which is famous for its sea turtles. No one drowned and everyone behaved. We had a good time and it was kind of nice without the parents.

The the view from a place we had dinner at.

My sister, cousin and I found like an empty dance hall. It was fun to explore 🙂

Loved the sea turtles so much! Something about being so close to them and in their world was amazing. They are super cool animals to see in person. None of them seemed to mind us very much. We also saw a good amount of sting rays. (Serious Finding Nemo vibes)

The song Oceans by Hillsong United is an amazing timeless song with a wonderful meaning. Part of it goes, “You call me out upon the waters, the great unknown, where feet may fail.” Being at the beach always reminds me of it, and how sometimes God calls us to places we can’t stand, but He can.

Family game night was a lot of fun! We only see this side of the family every 3 years so it’s always fun to catch up.

Rain on the island was refreshing! Ft. Pete

My boys! These guys never fail to keep it interesting! Aaaand the dab is back 😀 Pete actually taught multiple people on staff how to Dab and of course everyone loved Pete, he brought smiles to so many peoples’ faces. The staff at Caneel Bay were all such genuinely nice people.

At nighttime you could see the other island lit up (Yes it was #lit). There was certain peace that came with night there. It got so dark but I loved it because you could see the stars. One night we sat on the beach, looked at the stars, and had a good conversation. Moments like those are things that are on the typical summer bucket list, but it’s not something I think you can force. Good memories.

I don’t know why, but I really like this selfie I took. My already crazy hair was filled with salt, my skin was warm from the sun, and I can almost guarantee you I am listening to country music. (It’s one that my brother would make fun of me for because it’s half my face)

The book Kisses From Katie that  I read!

The view of Caneel bay! Its amazing how God seemed to tuck these islands and beaches away. It was a blessing to be there.

The boat trip back to St.Thomas to leave was a lot of fun. We were up top and stood close to the front of the boat the whole time with the wind blowing in our faces. It was a good way to say goodbye.

Flying out! I love seeing the clouds and how they are always different. (This picture was taken over Miami)

This picture doesn’t capture it too well, but the lights flying into DC at night are really cool.

The vacation was fun, but I was glad to get home 🙂
