Time is for sure a relative concept in college. It flies but also some days its goes by at a painfully slow pace. Not exactly sure how I’ve been at college for over 2 months already, yet I feel like I’ve been here forever.

so what has happened? everything. absolutely everything. I can’t remember it all so I’m gonna go through my pictures to help me remember, probably pop a few in here for fun too.

  • My 19th birthday – I truly felt so celebrated by the friends around me, as well as my friends and family farther away. I was nervous because I’ve obviously never celebrated a birthday away from home and with such new friends. But it was a blast!

*forgot to mention this pics will be the ones that didn’t make the ‘gram

  • we went to Rockbridge for college fall weekend! fun time to spend with the squad. These friends are a big reason my transition to tech was so smooth. Thankful for them.

  • Housing– gotta mix in some of the ugly with the good. housing was one of those few instances I truly wished I was a guy because with girls ALL the emotions are mixed in. it remained a mess and incredibly draining for a while. I did finally find a

great place with a couple friends so I am thankful for that. but if im honest, im still recovering from it all. (for people wondering, VT housing starts about a month into the year)

  • Football– here’s a short list of life changing things, in order:
    • 1. Jesus
    • 2. VT football games
  • I FaceTime A LOT– it honestly doesn’t feel like I’m too far from the fam bc I talk to them a good but throughout the week. Sometimes I start to feel off and make time to call up an old friend or someone from home which always feels good. New friends are great but there’s something special about people who have walked through your story with you.
  • The fam came to visit! minus the brother. but it was a super fun weekend and we went to Homeplace which is a VT bucket-list restaurant. so fun doing Swva things, also a culture shock sometimes. life really does move slower here. not in a bad way, there really ISN’T a hurry to get places. which I need to remind my impatient, northern virginian self.
  • Not an official college activity but I went home for fall break! it was the best! Home is just a place of rest and quiet and animals. I miss the pets every.single.day. Its one of the hardest things about college so far. I’m so thankful for a house that is restful and its honestly more fun going home with younger siblings because I could just jump into what they were doing. BIG thanks to Ally Brown for driving me home 🙂

  • Dogs! Speaking of missing our furry pets, VT has 3 t

  • Sweet Blacksburg sunsets – don’t need to say much more than that

Contrary to the rest of this blog post, I do go to class and have homework. I have gotten the Hokie plague. We stay up really late and I have 8ams. There’s so much I could add but  I think that’s good enough for now.

Bottom line is I’m thankful for Blacksburg, for my friends, for the opportunity to be a business major. I’m thankful I have places and people to miss. Thankful for the nova and swva parts of me.

you’re welcome for the update mom;)

P.S. I’m also writing for the Collegiate Women in Business club this year! I’m featured in an article here: https://cwibchronicles.com/2019/10/24/meet-the-cwib-chronicles-writers/ and will be posting on my instagram story more articles I publish!
